The Studio

Andy Pickering working on a mix in his analogue studio. Compression, reverb, EQ

Our bespoke studio utilises a growing collection of analog gear from reel-to-reel tape machines, a vintage transformer mixer and outboard effects.

By adding tape delay and echo it will help digitally recorded music into the realm of the 1960’s era like The Stones, The Animals, The Beatles, The Doors and The Kinks.

We can produce high quality finished recordings ready for mastering. Mixing music is an art form which is sometimes sterilised in a DAW with plugins and relying on zeros and ones to separate everything. Bringing digitally recorded music into the analog realm allows for a more organic and nuanced sound with much more richness, depth and texture.

Using these techniques will help glue your track together and give it a more realistic and authentic production.

The easiest way to work with your finished song is to send over your individual digital song elements and for Andy to mix and produce the track under some instruction form you.

The first thing is to get a static mix of your song or songs and once you’re happy with that we will then create the analog effects needed to create your finished track. Once mixed to tape it’ll be of a more unique high quality finish feeling more glued together, generally sounding more like a “Record”

We can’t wait to hear your music!
